Compensation: $35.00 / hour


DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at Coos County Jail. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. Your expertise will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Shifts available:
  • Friday-Sunday, 11am-11pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including taking vital signs and performing diagnostic evaluations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and airway management.
  • Provide emergency care as needed, utilizing skills in basic life support and spinal tap procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately using the Epic electronic health record system.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, and workers compensation law as applicable.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
  • 1 year of nursing experience required.
  • Active BLS through American Heart Association or Red Cross (online only not accepted)
  • Correctional nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience in an Outpatient, Primary or Urgent care setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and patient management protocols.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
